Two years have passed since the Covid-19 pandemic started, and work-from-home (WFH) arrangements have become a commonplace occurrence.
The ease and comfort of showing up to work without leaving home is something many of us have become familiar with. Meetings that are held online and virtually have become part of the new normal.
But there's a trade-off to this new lifestyle. We spend more time than ever sitting down, and this sedentary behaviour contributes to many unhealthy conditions.
So how do we compensate? Aside from seeing your chiropractor regularly for adjustments, there are many other things we can do that will help keep us healthy.
Try out the following, and let us know what you think!
1. Take regular breaks throughout the day to get up, walk around, and stretch your body. The pause will also help prevent eyestrain from too much screen time.
2. Try to get in 30 to 40 minutes per day of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity.
3. If daily exercise is not an option, go for at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity.
4. If your budget allows it, invest in an adjustable desk that will allow you to work either standing or sitting.
