How to Beat the Heat this Summer

Summer time means a lot of hot days and nights. With a little forethought and planning, you can make sure that you’re safely enjoying all that sunshine.

Make sure to use sunscreen. Use sunscreen that has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher, and provides broad-spectrum protection. Apply it at least 30 minutes before venturing out.

Keep hydrated. Drink lots of fluids to make sure you avoid dehydration or heat stroke. Water is always a good idea, and juice can be a flavorful change. Fruit shakes are also a good option to keep you both hydrated and cool.

Cover up. Stay in the shade between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Use an umbrella, or a hat, when you go out. Wear sunglasses that provide UV protection.

Summer time is for fun in the sun, and with these tips, you’ll be sure to have a blast!
